Defender Ho Van Cuong held a formal wedding ceremony at a church in Nghe An.
This afternoon, defender Ho Van Cuong of Song Lam Nghe An club held his wedding ceremony with his partner Nguyen Linh at Yen Dai parish church (Vinh City). The wedding took place in a sacred and warm atmosphere with the attendance of family and close friends.
On the afternoon of May 5th, defender Ho Van Cuong of Song Lam Nghe An Club held his wedding ceremony at Yen Dai Parish Church, Nghi Phu Commune, Vinh City, Nghe An Province. Van Cuong's wife is Nguyen Linh, who graduated from the Faculty of Literature Education, Vinh University in 2024 and is currently working at a high school in Nghi Loc District.
The ceremony took place in a warm and solemn atmosphere, with the attendance of both families and close friends.
As a Catholic, Van Cuong chose to hold his wedding ceremony in a church. A church wedding ceremony holds sacred significance for couples, as marriage vows are spoken in the presence of God.
Previously, in March 2025, Van Cuong and Nguyen Linh held a traditional engagement ceremony at their home in Nghi Loc district – the bride's hometown. Despite being training with the Vietnam U22 team for an international friendly tournament in China at the same time, the player born in 2003 still managed to arrange the engagement ceremony properly.
Ho Van Cuong was born on January 15, 2003, in Hoang Mai town, Nghe An province. He was a trainee at the PVF Football Academy but had to leave in 2019 because he did not meet the physical requirements. Undeterred, Cuong joined the Song Lam Nghe An Youth Football Training Center, a breeding ground for many Vietnamese football talents.
In 2020, he and the Song Lam Nghe An U17 team won the National U17 Football Championship after a 3-2 victory against Nutifood Academy. He was then promoted to the Song Lam Nghe An first team in the 2022 season and quickly became a key player on the right wing thanks to his speed, fierce fighting spirit, and effective attacking support.
On the international stage, Ho Van Cuong was part of the Vietnam U23 team that won the 2022 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and the bronze medal at the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. In the third-place match, he scored a brace against Myanmar U22, making a significant contribution to the team's 3-1 victory.
After his wedding, Ho Van Cuong and his teammates are striving to avoid relegation in the V.League 2024/2025 season, with only 5 rounds remaining. Song Lam Nghe An faces a challenging schedule, having to play against three top teams: Hanoi FC, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, and Thep Xanh Nam Dinh. Despite playing at home in 2 out of 3 matches, the team from Nghe An still needs to put in a tremendous effort to earn points.
In the final two rounds, Song Lam Nghe An will face Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Da Nang, matches considered the "relegation finals" of the season. This will be the time when the character and spirit of the players, including Ho Van Cuong, will be paramount to ensure their goal of avoiding relegation.
