According to Mercedes-Benz, this version will not use the same equipment as the previously launched C, E and S-Class versions. Accordingly, the 2018 C-Class is equipped with two additional high-intensity LED clusters that converge light at a far angle. The system uses four control devices to create an ideal lighting pattern 100 times/second.

The two LED clusters in the photo may be infrared LEDs that support night lighting mode, helping drivers detect people or animals that are out of sight on the road due to low light conditions.
When the cluster lights are supplemented with high-intensity light beams, the car will illuminate wider and clearer on the road, especially when the car enters a winding road without dazzling other vehicles.
