Russia's TOS-2 heavy flamethrower system is a 'nightmare' for Ukraine.
(Baonghean.vn) - The Polish newspaper Interia reports that Russia's use of the TOS-2 heavy flamethrower system on the battlefield would be bad news for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

According to Ria Novosti, citing Interia (Poland), a volley of projectiles from the TOS-2 heavy flamethrower system is capable of inflicting devastating damage in just seconds, and eliminating anyone within its range.
Interia explained that thermobaric bombs cause destruction due to extremely high temperatures and pressures. In this case, the shock wave is capable of penetrating buildings, endangering anyone attempting to take shelter inside.
Compared to the TOS-1 heavy flamethrower system, the TOS-2 is far more dangerous – its armored cabin and more powerful engine allow it to reach speeds of up to 100 km/h. A launcher is mounted at the rear, and the missile's range is increased to 15 km (compared to 3 km in older versions).
Unlike its predecessors, the TOS-1 and TOS-1A Solntsepek, the TOS-2 has improved technical and tactical characteristics.
The TOS-2 is essentially a thermobaric missile system. While the TOS-1 and its successor, the TOS-1A Solntsepek, were mounted on T-72 tracked tank chassis, the TOS-2 is mounted on a Ural all-terrain armored vehicle chassis.
The TOS-2 is equipped with an automatic fire control system that significantly increases firing accuracy. The weapon offers a certain degree of defense against high-precision enemy weapons. The TOS-2 also does not require special loading equipment as the system has an integrated loading crane.
