On the morning of July 30, the Quang Nam Provincial Police confirmed that the Tam Ky City Police are urgently investigating and clarifying the alleged extortion of property by Mr. Tran Kim Nhuan (38 years old, Deputy Principal of Duy Tan High School, Tam Phu commune, Tam Ky City).

Earlier, on July 15th, at a cafe on Hung Vuong Street in Tam Ky City, the police caught Mr. Nhuan red-handed receiving 9 million VND from a female teacher at the same school.

Mr. Nhuận and the female teacher are colleagues at Duy Tân High School.

According to initial information, Mr. Nhuan and the female teacher were both married, but they secretly had an affair. During their encounters, Mr. Nhuan used his phone to take and save "sensitive" photos of the two of them.

Due to some personal reasons, the two later had a conflict. Mr. Nhuan repeatedly sent threatening messages, demanding that his female teacher lover give him 129 million VND or he would post her sensitive images online.

Faced with being blackmailed by Mr. Nhuan, the female teacher told her husband the whole story. Afterward, the couple reported the incident to the Tam Ky City Police. On July 15th, the teacher arranged to give Mr. Nhuan 9 million VND in advance at a coffee shop, where police officers raided the place and caught them red-handed.

Earlier that morning, in an exchange with a reporter from the Public Security Newspaper, a leader of the Quang Nam Provincial Department of Education and Training stated that they had not yet received information about the incident and would conduct an investigation to determine appropriate action.
