The effectiveness of the security camera system in Long Son urban area.
Amidst new development trends, Long Son ward has rapidly become a vibrant central unit with significant development potential within Thai Hoa town. The construction of a civilized urban area has received active and effective participation from the Party committee, government, mass organizations, and the people.

Efforts to create a civilized city.
In Long Son ward (Thai Hoa town), a system of 61 security cameras has been installed. This camera system was installed on the basis of "the State and the people working together." The government covered the cost of installing cameras at several important locations and invested in a central connecting system, while households and businesses invested in installing cameras connected to the central system located at the ward police station.
By doing so, from mid-2023 to the present, the security camera system in Long Son ward has made a positive contribution to ensuring security and order, promptly reminding households and businesses that violate traffic safety regulations. At the same time, it has helped the police force quickly grasp and handle situations related to security and order in the area.
Captain Vu Ngoc Quang, Deputy Head of Long Son Ward Police, said: "The installation of cameras helps the locality prevent crime; and at the same time effectively implements the campaign 'All citizens protect national security in the new situation' and the movement to build the ward into a civilized urban area."
Long Son Ward was recognized as a ward meeting the "Safety and Security" standard in 2023 and was evaluated and recognized as excellent in the "All People Protect National Security" movement in 2023; it was also recognized by the People's Committee of Thai Hoa town as a model ward in the "All People Protect National Security" movement according to Decision No. 1512/QD-UBND dated July 9, 2024.
The aforementioned field of nationwide security protection is just one of dozens of exemplary tasks in the construction of a civilized urban area in Long Son ward. According to local assessments, the ward has so far completed 9 out of 9 criteria with 52 out of 52 criteria for achieving the standard of a civilized urban area and has finalized the dossier to request recognition from higher levels.
What is noteworthy in this endeavor is the specific direction of the Party committee, the decisive involvement of the government and mass organizations, and the unity and joint efforts of the people in the area.

As an area inhabited by three ethnic groups—Kinh, Thai, and Tho—Long Son ward possesses both urban and rural characteristics. Throughout its development, the ward has consistently received attention from the Party committee and higher-level authorities, especially in infrastructure and social welfare. Infrastructure such as electricity, roads, schools, and health stations have been developed; many important transportation routes, including national highways, provincial roads, and inner-city roads, pass through the ward.
To date, 100% of the roads in the blocks have been concreted; the electrical system has been upgraded and repaired; the lighting rate has reached 100%; medical and school infrastructure has been newly built and upgraded; traditional culture is regularly cared for; emphasis is placed on preserving and promoting traditional cultural values and building a civilized urban lifestyle; the annual rate of culturally exemplary families reaches over 95% and 100% of the blocks achieve the status of culturally exemplary blocks; the poverty rate has decreased to 0.84%.
Education and training are consistently prioritized, the quality of the teaching staff is standardized; universal education meets standards; 100% of schools in the area meet national standards. National defense, security, and social order are ensured. The material and spiritual lives of the people are constantly improving, with average per capita income reaching 65 million VND/year.

Currently, all 9/9 blocks of Long Son ward have waste collection contracts with an environmental company. The Women's Union of the ward has launched the model "Clean House, Beautiful Garden, Civilized Alley" associated with sorting and processing waste at source; and simultaneously implemented community activities to ensure environmental hygiene.
In particular, Long Son ward has the Lang Vac archaeological site – representative of the Dong Son culture – which is a very famous tourist and research site in the country and the region, with historical, spiritual and tourism development value. This is both a source of pride and a motivation for officials, Party members and people of the ward to promote unity and work together to build a civilized urban area.
At the beginning of the second quarter of 2024, a survey of public satisfaction regarding the construction of the ward to meet the standards of a civilized urban area showed that 100% of the surveyed residents were satisfied.

Ensuring sustainability criteria
To achieve positive results in building a civilized urban area, the Ward Party Committee has strengthened its leadership. Since 2022, the Ward Party Committee has issued Resolution No. 36 - NQ/DU (dated August 16, 2022) "On strengthening leadership, guidance and organization of the implementation of the movement for national unity in building a cultured life, giai đoạn 2021 - 2026, associated with building the ward to meet the standards of a civilized urban area".

Simultaneously, numerous thematic resolutions were issued to accelerate implementation in various specific areas. The government, organizations, units, and various sectors, along with the people, carried out many tasks, launched emulation movements, and the Long Son Ward People's Committee registered for recognition as a civilized urban area with the Town People's Committee in October 2024.
To build the ward into a civilized urban area, the Party Committee and the Government have clearly identified this as a key and ongoing political task. From there, together with various organizations, they have launched numerous emulation movements to promote national unity and cooperation, mobilizing various resources to achieve the standards and criteria according to the Party's guidelines and the State's regulations."
