The principal of Vocational College No. 4 - Ministry of National Defense was awarded the title of People's Teacher.

On the morning of November 17th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the Vietnam Education Union, organized the 16th awarding ceremony for the titles of People's Teacher and Excellent Teacher, and honored "Outstanding Teachers" in 2024.

The title of People's Teacher,Outstanding TeacherThe awards are considered and presented to educators who have made significant contributions to the education sector, recognizing and honoring their immense contributions to the cause of nurturing future generations. Prior to this, in 2024, after the State Council convened and voted on the selection process, the President awarded the title of People's Teacher to 21 educators and the title of Excellent Teacher to 1,167 educators.

Among the 21 teachers awarded the title of People's Teacher this time,Vocational College No. 4, Ministry of National DefenceWe are honored to have Colonel Nguyen Truong Son - the school's principal. Currently, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son is also the first teacher of the school to be awarded the title of People's Teacher.

Colonel Nguyen Truong Son (born in 1966) has worked for many years at Vocational College No. 4, Ministry of National Defense. Over the years, in his capacity as Principal of the college, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son has made significant contributions to building Vocational College No. 4 into a shining example within the national vocational school system, establishing its reputation and brand in vocational training, job placement, and supplying high-quality human resources to both domestic and international labor markets.

Currently, the school has a training scale of over 12,000 students per year, with a stable employment rate of over 92% for graduates in technical fields. The school is consistently highly regarded by ministries, people's committees, departments, agencies, businesses, and hospitals for its quality of training and its ability to provide employment opportunities for graduates and workers.

As an officer in the Vietnam People's Army, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son has always prioritized the cultivation and training of political qualities and revolutionary ethics.

Over the years, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son, together with the school's staff, has reformed the recruitment process, implementing many groundbreaking policies and solutions to improve training quality; linking training with job placement counseling. At the same time, he has directly selected, trained, and coached 18 teachers to participate in national and military vocational education teacher competitions, achieving high results.

During his tenure, the Principal of Vocational College No. 4 has also had many research topics and initiatives that have been recognized and highly appreciated by superiors, and has led the implementation of: 1 ministerial-level research topic; 3 provincial/sector-level research topics; and 10 technical improvement initiatives that have been successfully implemented and applied effectively in the training activities of the college and other vocational education institutions inside and outside the military.

In addition, he actively participated in military science information activities, writing and having 8 scientific articles published in prestigious journals inside and outside the military: Military Science Journal, Military School Journal, and Vocational Education Science Journal.

Furthermore, in his capacity as chairman of the School's Scientific and Training Council, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son directly served as the chief editor and organized the compilation of 20 textbooks and 37 training programs (including 7 key fields and professions that meet international, regional, and national standards), which have been approved for printing and put into service for training purposes, achieving high quality and effectiveness.

In 2021, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son was one of 10 outstanding teachers from over 1,100 vocational education institutions nationwide, honored by the Prime Minister on Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20th.

During his career, Colonel Nguyen Truong Son has received numerous commendations from the Ministry of National Defense and the Provincial People's Committee, and has been recognized as an outstanding soldier at the grassroots level for many consecutive years.
