Hillary Clinton: ISIS wants Trump to be President of the United States.

(Baonghean.vn) - Israeli television on September 8 quoted Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as saying that the leaders of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) are actively supporting their Republican opponent, Donald Trump, and praying that he will become the US President.

Clinton's statement was made in response to an article published in Time magazine on the evening of September 7th, written by former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Matthew Olsen. In that article, Olsen claimed that ISIS was working to "support Trump."

"I was very surprised that the evidence Mr. Olsen presented was so clear and compelling. Mr. Olsen cited statements from an ISIS spokesperson expressing support for a Trump victory because Trump has always considered Islam and Muslims to be part of his campaign. And essentially, Mr. Olsen also suggested that ISIS fighters see this as a great gift from America," Clinton said.

Clinton added: "Therefore, I do not support providing aid to ISIS's evil ambitions. I want to defeat them. I want to end their reign of terror. I don't want ISIS to feel as though it is being aided by American policies."

In addition, Clinton stated that she would prioritize killing or capturing the leader of IS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, just as President Barack Obama had done with al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Clinton stressed that "This will send a clear message that no one should lead or even dream of carrying out attacks against the United States."

Clinton also reiterated her criticism of Trump's "secret" approach to dealing with ISIS, stating that "Trump doesn't have a concrete plan."
