During a business trip to Russia as US Secretary of State, Mrs. Clinton and her assistant left a confidential document behind when leaving their hotel room. Luckily, US diplomatic security personnel discovered it, ABC News reported, citing the FBI.
The agency said Clinton's aide should not have brought the bag containing the documents into the hotel in the first place. This is part of nearly 200 pages of new FBI documents related to the investigation of Democratic candidate Clinton's use of private email.
FBI Director James Comey said that although investigators found no evidence that Clinton knew about classified information being transferred to her home server, the agency still concluded that Hillary was "extremely careless" in handling classified information.
Newly released FBI documents are intended to further explain why bureau officials decided not to charge Mrs. Clinton and her aides.
The US Attorney General in early July accepted the FBI's recommendation not to prosecute and end the investigation into Hillary Clinton for using personal email while she was Secretary of State.
