"Today marks a victory for the 24 million people at risk of losing health insurance, for the elderly, for families battling addiction, for mothers and women everywhere," Hillary Clinton wrote on Twitter.

"Above all, it is a victory for anyone who believes that affordable healthcare is a legitimate human right. We cannot forget: This victory happened because people across the country dedicated their time and effort to mobilizing parliamentarians, appearing at rallies, and making their voices heard."

"The fight is not over," she wrote, emphasizing that "we will have to push back against bad ideas in the future and embrace the good ones to make healthcare increasingly affordable."

Republican lawmakers today withdrew President Donald Trump's healthcare bill, just before a vote was scheduled to replace Obamacare.Trump's bill includes massive cuts to Medicaid, the health care program that helps low-income families or individuals pay for long-term medical expenses. The Congressional Budget Office estimates the bill could cause 24 million Americans to lose health insurance over the next 10 years.

House Speaker Paul Ryan expressed disappointment that the bill was withdrawn.
