Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's plane landed at Noi Bai airport at around 10:50 a.m. This is the first time a Canadian leader has visited Vietnam since taking office.
Mr. Trudeau wore a black suit and blue tie, raising his hand in a wave as he stepped out of the plane. As soon as he stepped out of the door, the reception team below the plane warmly welcomed him.

Earlier, on Twitter, Prime Minister Trudeau shared that he was on his way to Hanoi, preparing for a "busy week" in Vietnam and the Philippines.
He buttoned his vest as he walked down the stairs. The weather at Noi Bai airport this morning was cool, windy and lightly sunny.

Mr. Trudeau began his official visit to Vietnam today and attended the APEC summit week in Da Nang.

Mr. Justin Trudeau, 45 years old, became the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada after his Liberal Party won a majority in the House of Commons in the 2015 national election. He traveled to Vietnam in 1995, when he was 24 years old. He is a multi-talented person, has acted in movies, is a brown belt judo fighter, enjoys practicing yoga and is especially fond of boxing.

According to the schedule, the Canadian Prime Minister will arrive in Hanoi for an official visit on November 8. On November 9, Mr. Trudeau will leave Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City, visit and have some activities with businesses there. On November 10, the Canadian Prime Minister will arrive in Da Nang to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week.

Vietnam is currently Canada’s largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. Two-way trade has increased steadily in recent years, about 20-25% per year, reaching 4.1 billion USD in 2016 and 2.34 billion USD in the first 8 months of 2017 (up 20% over the same period last year).
