Mr. Thuy said that he and his wife took a bus from Nghe An at 10 p.m. last night hoping to light an incense stick to pay their respects to the General Secretary. “General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is a great leader who has made many contributions to the country. My wife and I only hope to be able to pay our respects to the General Secretary today,” Mr. Thuy shared.

In Lai Da village, Dong Hoi commune, Dong Anh district (Hanoi), thousands of people gathered at the village's cultural center early in the morning to prepare for the memorial service for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tue (93 years old) shared: "For the past few nights, I haven't been able to sleep. After receiving the news of the General Secretary's death, not only I but all the people of Lai Da are deeply saddened. This morning, despite being weak, from 4 a.m., Mr. Tue went alone with his cane to the area where the memorial service was being held before anyone else arrived."

“Lai Da is the birthplace of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a son who wholeheartedly dedicated himself to the country and the people. Therefore, we deeply mourn his passing,” Mr. Tue shared.
According to the plan, at exactly 6:00 AM this morning, the memorial service for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will take place in Lai Da village. Currently, all preparations have been completed. The first delegation to pay their respects will be the Nguyen Phu family.
