The head coach of the Vietnam U22 team has set the goal of winning the SEA Games 33.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh has set the goal of winning the SEA Games 33 championship, while affirming that the U22 Vietnam team is determined and well-prepared for this tournament.
On the afternoon of March 11th, the Vietnam U22 team continued their second training session at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center. At this session, the U22 team had a full squad, as defender Ho Van Cuong and overseas Vietnamese midfielder Nguyen An Khanh had joined the team this morning.
Before the training session, coach Dinh Hong Vinh gave an interview to the media, affirming that the Vietnam U22 team is undergoing long-term preparation for important tournaments in 2025, especially the 33rd SEA Games.

"In 2025, we will have important milestones, with the 33rd SEA Games being a tournament where we have high expectations. The whole team's goal is to prepare well in order to aim for the championship."
Besides focusing on results, coach Dinh Hong Vinh also emphasized consistency in the way the team's playing style is developed across all levels. "We are working closely to ensure that the football philosophy from the U22 team to the national team remains consistent. This will help the players easily adapt and develop in a consistent direction."

One of the key tasks for the Vietnam U22 team in the coming period is to find the optimal lineup. According to the plan, by September 2025, the team will determine its strongest squad to aim for the SEA Games 33 as well as the U23 Asian Cup qualifiers.
In addition to evaluating domestic players, the coaching staff also pays special attention to Vietnamese players living abroad. Coach Dinh Hong Vinh revealed that the professional team is closely monitoring Vietnamese players currently playing overseas to find suitable talents.

Regarding midfielder Viktor Lê, he commented: "He regularly gets playing time and starts in matches. This is a positive sign that helps him meet the selection criteria. However, to integrate into the team's playing style, the coaching staff is still working with and supporting him to adapt better."
Similarly, the coaching staff is also closely monitoring Andrej Nguyen An Khanh – a Vietnamese-born player currently playing in the Czech Republic.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh emphasized: "We have a dedicated team that collects information and evaluates the players' development. The important thing is that they must constantly improve themselves and integrate well with the team's overall philosophy."

After a demanding schedule of matches in domestic leagues like the V-League and the First Division, players need to adjust their physical condition.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that the coaching staff has made detailed plans to ensure the best physical condition for the entire team. In the initial phase of this training camp, we will prioritize relaxation and recovery exercises. After that, the team will gradually increase the training volume to be ready for the important upcoming matches.
Besides building the team's formation and tactics, coach Dinh Hong Vinh also emphasizes close coordination between different levels of the national team.
He shared about his working relationship with national team head coach Kim Sang-sik: "Coach Kim Sang-sik and I have reached an agreement on how to implement the playing style. We want to ensure synchronization between the U22 team and the national team, helping players easily adapt when transitioning to the next level. The training plans have been adjusted accordingly to create the most seamless and effective approach."
