Coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed that the Vietnamese national team is ready to face the Thai national team, with the goal of winning.

On the morning of September 9th, a press conference was held in Hanoi ahead of the match between the Vietnamese and Thai national teams in the 2024 international friendly tournament.
Speaking to the media, coach Kim Sang-sik highly praised the match: "The match against Thailand is not just a simple game, but also has great significance. In the 2022 AFF Cup final, the Vietnamese team lost to Thailand, and we need to win this match."

This is a crucial match for the end of the year. The whole team is working hard to achieve the best possible result for the fans. Yesterday's training session was difficult due to the storm, but the players are ready for tomorrow's match.
The rivalry between the Vietnamese and Thai national teams is similar to that between Japan and South Korea. Therefore, the upcoming clash means more than just a simple match. I myself have instructed the players to strive for victory," coach Kim Sang-sik emphasized the significance of the match against their "rival" Thailand.

“I am very happy that Thailand can bring many young players to Vietnam, because that is necessary for the development of football. The Vietnamese national team also has young players like Hai Long, Vi Hao…”

"I think the Thai players are all talented. Having more young players in the Thai national team is a good thing. The Vietnamese team is also doing the same and has prepared well for this match," coach Kim Sang-sik shared regarding the rejuvenation of both the Vietnamese and Thai national teams.

"The match against Thailand is very important. We will try our best to get a good result and bring joy to the fans. The whole team will strive to win," the South Korean strategist concluded.

Meanwhile, midfielder Hung Dung also expressed his determination: “I and the whole team are ready for tomorrow’s match. We hope fans will come to the stadium and watch the match on various platforms. We hope we will achieve victory.”

Thailand brought quite a few new players to Vietnam, some of whom we had never faced before and were quite unfamiliar. The Thai national team's coach has also been working for quite a while, having led the team to the Asian Cup, while the Vietnamese national team is still in the process of perfecting its playing style under coach Kim Sang-sik. However, we need to improve ourselves before thinking about our opponent."
