Coach Le Huynh Duc admitted that the injury crisis has left Ho Chi Minh City Police team struggling.
Following the 0-2 defeat against Nam Dinh in round 21 of the V.League, coach Le Huynh Duc pointed out the serious personnel shortage and systemic errors that caused the team's decline.
The 0-2 defeat against Nam Dinh at Thien Truong Stadium in Round 21 of the V.League 2025/26 has put Ho Chi Minh City Police in a difficult situation. Not only did they lose points, but the team also dropped to 6th place in the standings, clearly showing signs of fatigue in the long run due to a wave of injuries.
Severe staffing crisis
After the match, coach Le Huynh Duc shared his candid thoughts on the team's situation. The lengthy injury list is becoming the biggest obstacle to the ambitions of the police team. Key players like Khoa Ngo, Peter Makrillos, and Endrick are all sidelined, making squad rotation difficult.
The absence of key players not only weakens the attack but also deprives the team of its unpredictability in crucial moments. According to the coach from Da Nang, constantly having to patch up the lineup has disrupted the cohesion between the different lines of play.
Defensive errors
Besides personnel issues, coach Le Huynh Duc also pointed out a fatal weakness in the defense. While the attack was ineffective and unable to find the opponent's goal, the defense repeatedly made individual mistakes leading to goals conceded.
"If we can't score goals upfront, we'll make mistakes down the field. Almost all of the recent goals conceded have come from defensive errors," Mr. Duc emphasized. The lack of concentration in counter-attacking situations is a major headache that the coaching staff has yet to find a satisfactory solution to.
Consequences of insufficient preparation time.
Explaining the decline in performance, coach Le Huynh Duc stated that the team's physical fitness and cohesion were not truly stable from the beginning of the season. Due to the newly assembled squad and the lack of an ideal pre-season period, the players began to show signs of fatigue when entering the crucial stages of the V.League.
Despite facing numerous challenges, the head coach of the Ho Chi Minh City Police team affirmed that the entire team will strive to overcome difficulties. The immediate goal is to approach each match with the highest spirit to improve their position in the standings before key players recover from injuries.
