Coach Mai Duc Chung praised the spirit, the women's team won TP.HCM I 3-2
After the first 2 weeks of training, coach Mai Duc Chung acknowledged the team's efforts; the Vietnamese women's team beat TP.HCM I 3-2 and is preparing to go to Japan for training from November 20.
The 3-2 victory over Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club I on Saturday afternoon was not only a test, but also reflected what coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized after the first 2 weeks of training: the training spirit of the Vietnamese women's team is at a very high level, despite the erratic weather with heavy rain and then harsh sunlight.
Message from the 3-2 friendly match: practice to be ready
According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the goal of the match with TP.HCM I is to gain experience and test tactics. Notably, TP.HCM I has the presence of a number of foreign players, helping the Vietnamese women's team get used to a physical playing style - a factor that may appear frequently at the 33rd SEA Games when some teams have naturalized players.
Despite the victory, the coaching staff clearly saw the things that needed to be improved: passing, movement and communication on the field. As coach Mai Duc Chung affirmed, "we still have to improve a lot in terms of tactics" because the upcoming SEA Games will be very fierce.
Spirit is the foundation
“They have made a great effort,” coach Mai Duc Chung commented on the first two weeks of the training camp. The training spirit is considered the fulcrum for the team to achieve the best results. In the constantly changing weather conditions, the workload is still guaranteed, thereby showing that the physical foundation is enhanced and the cohesion in coordination is improving.
SEA Games 33 draw: challenge of physical strength and speed
According to the draw results, the Vietnamese women's team is in the same group as the Philippines, Myanmar and Malaysia. This is not an easy group: the opponents are all improved, in which the Philippines attracts attention with many naturalized players. This makes the tests of one-on-one disputes, speed of transition and ability to withstand collisions more meaningful.

Preparation plan: training in Japan from November 20
According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will leave for Japan for training from November 20. Before that, in the last 2 weeks at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the team will have 3 more practice matches with the HCMC women's club and two amateur football teams from Bac Ninh and Son Tay. The goal is to maintain the intensity of the competition, review personnel and fine-tune tactical details.
Key training points: coordination and communication
From a technical point of view, the coaching staff have identified areas that need immediate improvement: passing accuracy, movement without the ball and communication in each layer of pressing as well as defensive organization. These details determine the smoothness of the system, especially when facing direct and physical teams.
Phase 1 Summary: Closing to Accelerate
The first preparation for the 33rd SEA Games ended with a meaningful friendly match and specific notes: good spirit, improved physical strength, and improved coordination structure. The remaining work lies in raising technical and tactical standards through the next practice matches and the training trip to Japan, aiming to enter the SEA Games with the highest level of readiness.
