Coach Ngo Quang Truong: After ups and downs

(Baonghean) - After resigning as SLNA head coach, Quang Truong was rarely seen, even in the Nghe An team's matches at Vinh Stadium. It seems that after 2 "gray-haired" seasons as SLNA head coach, Quang Truong wants to rest and spend time with his family.

When leaving the “hot seat” of the Nghe An football team, there were many rumors about Quang Truong’s future. There were sources that, with his relatively complete qualifications and experience, Quang Truong was invited by some V.League teams. There was also information that the former “captain” of SLNA would go on secondment, working as an assistant or coach for a First Division team.

But the reality is not like that. Quang Truong is not the type of person who likes fame and conquest, he lives quite quietly. After leaving the first team, Quang Truong, following the leadership's assignment, took charge of a youth team at the Song Lam "furnace".

Although the job is easy, Quang Truong is very satisfied because he has more time for his family. Away from professional football, Quang Truong also wants to hide away to rest. It is rare to see this former famous player wearing his shoes on the field, playing football with his peers.

Although not long, the two years as head coach of the Nghe An football team were full of ups and downs for Quang Truong. Therefore, this former national player has a reason to hide behind the noise related to football.

Previously, at the end of 2014, Coach Nguyen Huu Thang suddenly resigned and Coach Ngo Quang Truong, who was then on the staff of the youth training department, was transferred to become the head coach. In the past, Quang Truong was the head coach of U.17, U.19 SLNA and made quite an impression. He once won the national championship with U.17 SLNA in 2012.

As a professional, Quang Truong helped SLNA compete very successfully in the first leg of the 2015 season. Unfortunately, due to some objective reasons, mainly due to the Nghe An team, they did not achieve the desired success, especially in the 2016 season. As the "captain" of the team, Quang Truong was also very worried. Being quiet and reserved, Quang Truong rarely complained or told his troubles.

However, at some point, people can no longer try, because their career is short, they still have to take care of themselves and spend time taking care of their family. Quang Truong had submitted a resignation letter since the end of the first leg of the 2016 season. However, this wish did not come true because the leadership encouraged him to continue working and also to help the team in difficult times.

Quang Truong wants to quit his job at the first team to return to youth training, where he was very passionate before and where he had many famous students. The pressure at the youth team is moderate, it is considered more suitable for the personality of coach Ngo Quang Truong. And it is not by chance that Quang Truong refused many invitations from other teams to be happy with the position of head coach of a U-team at the Song Lam "furnace".

No longer working in a big playground like V.League, Quang Truong's passion and responsibility for the job are still very great. Every day, 2 sessions go to the club's headquarters to work. In addition to coaching young players, Quang Truong with many years of experience is also a friend, sharing with each situation in the team.

Coming here, when leading the U.15 team to participate in the national qualifying round, people will see a Quang Truong with the desire and responsibility for the passion that has haunted him for more than 20 years. After the ups and downs in V.League, Quang Truong likes it like that, being comfortable with his nurturing work.
