Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong is the son of veteran coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh. This coach is considered the "welder" of V.League. In 2018, he replaced coach Phan Van Tai Em as an assistant at Saigon FC. This team immediately flourished under his leadership, finishing in 5th place.

At the end of the 2019 season, Mr. Cong left the team for family reasons. When Thanh Hoa was in crisis, Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong took on the role of "welder" to replace Mr. Fabio Lopez from round 4 of V.League 2020. Since then, Thanh Hoa has played well and escaped the crisis period.
