Coach Park Hang-seo concludes training trip to Korea
After the final practice match of the Vietnam National Team against Seoul E-land, Coach Park Hang-seo made conclusions about the 2-week training trip in Korea.
On the afternoon of October 29, the Vietnam national football team had their last friendly match during their training trip in Korea against Seoul E-land Club (currently playing in the K-League 2). In this match, coach Park Hang-seo released a lineup with players he considered the most satisfactory such as Van Lam, Hung Dung, Quang Hai, Cong Phuong...
However, despite having the superior position, with the inherent problem of the ineffectiveness of the strikers, the Vietnamese team could not even once penetrate the opponent's net. Meanwhile, our defense could not maintain the necessary concentration and let the opponent score 2 goals in the last minutes of the first half and the beginning of the second half.
After finishing the training trip with 3 friendly matches, including 1 win and 2 losses, Coach Park Hang-seo still expressed satisfaction with the performance of the players. According to the Korean strategist, 2 weeks at the Paju Sports Training Center helped him and the coaching staff see and overcome many problems. In response to reporters, the head coach of the Vietnam National Team said:
"This is our last practice match. The Vietnamese players are not used to the typical fast playing style of a Korean team, so we failed in today's match. There were situations that we could not resolve or could not block the attacks of the other team.
However, through this training trip, I am satisfied with the progress of the players, especially in terms of physical fitness. The training process also helps the team to be better organized, coordinate more smoothly with each other and improve their competitive spirit. After this period of time, I will definitely find the best individuals."
One notable detail is that striker Cong Phuong was called out by coach Park Hang-seo for some private instructions. However, after the match ended, when asked whether he would build Vietnam's playing style around the Nghe An striker, the 59-year-old coach still kept his cards to himself, briefly replying: "I have no comment on this matter."
According to the plan, the whole team will return to Vietnam on October 30. The team will continue to practice domestically and according to coach Park Hang-seo, he will announce the official list of 23 players on November 7, which is just 1 day before the opening match of the Vietnamese team at the AFF Cup 2018. Our opponent in the opening match of the campaign to conquer the Southeast Asian championship will be the Laos team./.
