According to current rules, FIFA stipulates that there are 5 international matches per year (called FIFA Day or FIFA International Match Calendar).
These 5 waves fall at the following times:
+ End of March (usually 25-31)
+ Early June (usually 3-10)
+ Early September (usually 1-10)
+October (usually 7-15/10)
+ November (usually 10-17)

In addition to these 5 rounds, clubs are also obliged to release players to the national team in continental and world tournaments including: EURO, World Cup, CAN, Copa America, FIFA Confederations Cup, CONCACAF Gold Cup, Asian Cup, OFC Nations Cup.
Outside of the tournaments and times mentioned above, clubs are not obliged to release players for the national team to compete. If the national team can negotiate, they will have players, if they cannot negotiate, they will have to accept the loss of players.
This year’s AFF Cup will take place from November 8 to December 15. So there is a period from November 8 to November 17 that overlaps with the FIFA schedule. Therefore, the goalkeeper who is playing in the Premier League of the Philippines will only participate in 2 matches at the AFF Cup 2018. The same is true for the 4 Thai players who are playing abroad.
