The General Director of Song Lam Nghe An Joint Stock Company, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thanh, confirmed that Coach Ngo Quang Truong has joined Hai Phong Club on a secondment. He also stated that Hai Phong Club President, Mr. Tran Manh Hung, recommended Ngo Quang Truong to Lach Tray Stadium to assist Coach Truong Viet Hoang, who is ill and facing difficulties in coaching.
Coach Ngo Quang Truong had considerable success in youth development at SLNA, notably winning the U17 National Championship in 2012. After two seasons leading SLNA in the V.League, at the end of 2017, Coach Quang Truong and former star players such as Nguyen Huu Thang, Phan Thanh Hung, Lu Dinh Tuan, Le Huynh Duc, Hoang Van Phuc, Nguyen Minh Phuong, Nguyen Duc Thang, Nguyen Van Sy… all received AFC professional coaching certificates.

Coach Ngo Quang Truong said: “I am still part of the SLNA squad and have been seconded to Hai Phong for one season to assist Coach Truong Viet Hoang. In terms of work, Coach Hoang and I will work together for the team to help Hai Phong improve its performance in the upcoming period.”
During this period, the Nghe An team also "assigned" goalkeeper Le Quang Dai to Hanoi to join Phu Dong Club, which is currently playing in the Second Division. Goalkeeper Quang Dai, born in 1993, played very well in the match against Persija Jakarta in the AFC Cup 2018. After Nguyen Manh suffered an injury, the player from Hung Nguyen could not compete with the other three goalkeepers and temporarily left the Nghe An team.
