Coach Van Sy Son takes on the role of 'head coach' for the first time.
(Baonghean.vn) - After parting ways with his role as assistant coach at Hanoi FC, Coach Van Sy Son has accepted the offer to lead Binh Phuoc FC in the 2021 First Division league.
In February 2020, the assistant coachVan Sy SonHe unexpectedly parted ways with Hanoi FC after 10 years. The former SLNA defender was also the longest-serving assistant coach since the capital city team joined the V.League. He won the First Division title in 2008, the V.League title five times and was runner-up four times, and won the National Cup in 2019.
After a year back home attending to family matters, coach Van Sy Son will return as the "head coach" of Binh Phuoc Club. He will replace coach Vo Quoc Huy to lead the team in the 2021 First Division league, which starts in April 2021.

"Football is not just a job for me, it's also a passion. Recently, many teams have offered me positions, but after careful consideration, I chose Binh Phuoc. I also want to challenge myself in a new role," shared coach Van Sy Son.
In the recent First Division league, Binh Phuoc club performed quite consistently and finished in 5th place overall. In the First Division, another coach from Nghe An, Nguyen Thanh Cong, is also leading Quang Nam club.
