The Ban Ang hydroelectric reservoir is operating to release water.
The Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense has just issued a notice regarding the operation and water regulation of the Ban Ang hydroelectric reservoir in Xa Luong commune, Tuong Duong district.
At 4:13 AM on May 24, 2025, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense received Notice No. 01/TB-NMNN dated May 24, 2025, from Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company regarding the increase in water discharge from Ban Ang hydropower reservoir due to increased inflow.
To ensure the safe operation of water discharge from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir in accordance with the single-reservoir operating procedure, the inter-reservoir operating procedure on the Ca River basin, and in line with the hydrological conditions at the site, Nam Mo and Nam Non Hydropower Joint Stock Company plans to discharge water from the Ban Ang hydropower reservoir.

Expected time for operation and regulation: 8:15 AM on May 24, 2025.
Expected discharge flow rate is 250 m³.3/s up to 350 m3/s (including discharge through spillway gates and generator units).
Time to stop releasing water through the spillway: Until the water inflow into the reservoir drops below 189.6 m.3/S.
The Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense hereby informs: the People's Committee of Tuong Duong District and the heads of provincial departments, agencies, and the Road Management Area 2 to notify all levels of government, agencies, units, investors currently constructing along and on the river, owners of water transport vehicles, and all people in the downstream area of the Ban Ang Hydropower Plant to implement necessary measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of the State and the people.
