Ho Ngoc Ha: 'Cuong Do La has no reason to hate me'

September 6, 2016 10:28

The Face coach shared that she did nothing wrong and even devoted herself wholeheartedly to Cuong Do La, so the wealthy businessman from the mountainous region had no reason to delete her photos from Facebook.

After winning The Face with her student, Ho Ngoc Ha had a Q&A session with Zing.vn readers. During the conversation, the singer frankly answered questions about the show and her ex-boyfriend, but declined to answer questions about her relationship with businessman Chu Dang Khoa.

I am completely devoted to Cuong Do La.

- You previously shared that you could share a bed with Mr. Cuong for the sake of your son. So, how do you feel now that he has publicly revealed his girlfriend?

- I didn't feel anything because we had been friends for a very long time. And most importantly, we understood each other very well. I never bring up other people's private lives. But I want to reiterate what I said: Sharing a bed doesn't mean anything can happen when feelings are gone.

- People think Cuong still loves you because he deleted Ha Vi's photos from his personal page but still keeps yours. What do you think about that?

- Cuong has no reason to hate me. I believe Cuong understands the whole story because I was once very devoted to him. And even now, I haven't done or said anything to my old friend.

- On her Instagram account, she shared a picture with the comment: "Live your life and stop talking about me." Is this a message she's sending to mothers?

- This is more for those who are nosy, who like to live other people's lives, mock, and speculate. That's my message. As you can see, life is unpredictable; today there's good news, but who knows if it will be the same tomorrow? Even survival itself is very fragile.

We've been witnessing and hearing about the passing of many artists lately. Have you ever wondered, if you criticize them today, and something happens tomorrow, will you regret it or still feel satisfied? I've learned a lesson: never say unkind things to anyone.

Wait until you're in trouble, then there will be others to protect you; don't let your words get you into trouble.

-In The Face, you once told the contestants that to win, they needed a lot of tricks. So, is it because of your skillful tricks that you, despite not being a great singer, still became famous and an entertainment star?

- Surely the audience can't remain so lenient with me after all these years? My efforts, hard work, seriousness, and continuous self-improvement are what the audience sees in me, and they've allowed me to exist as I do today.

Everything is like that; being too serious is tiring, and being too gimmicky while lacking talent is also fatal, right? So why can't we find a balance between the two to create something interesting? Remember, Ha's gimmicks are meant to be interesting, not to hide anything.

- Today is National Day for sending children to school. What special thing are you planning for Subeo? You've been so busy lately; is Subeo angry or upset with you?

- Subeo's school started more than a week ago. On his first day of school, Cuong took him there and I picked him up.

I have to go to work, but I always remind myself to balance everything. Subeo has two families, two homes. There are always loved ones there, so he never has time to be sad. In our free time, my son and I often chat like friends.

- Yesterday you shared quite a lot about Minh Thuan; could you share a memory you had with him?

- I was truly shocked to hear the news about him - a respected senior colleague. I will always remember something he said to me from the early days when I was facing difficulties and controversies in my career. He simply told me: "Ignore them. The more untrue things are said about you, the more blessings the profession bestows upon you."

And it's true that no matter how many difficulties, storms, or controversies I face, I've still managed to survive in this profession and have my own audience. Right now, I want to see you before it's too late.

When I was the same age as Phi Phuong Anh, I wasn't afraid of being criticized.

- As a judge, and with the final night in particular and the show in general being criticized, how has this affected your reputation?

- I think the show has been incredibly popular. It's been a success in an era where you can see reality TV shows just by turning on the TV.

Throwing stones is a habit of idle netizens who are always nitpicking and seeing bacteria everywhere in life, so The Face is no exception to this "hobby" of theirs.

- In the final night, Phuong Anh was the last to walk out in the fashion show, while she was paired with Vinh Thuy in the center of the stage, her striking red outfit completely overshadowing Pham Huong and Lan Khue. Many suspect that Ha Ho's team's victory was rigged?

- Firstly, nobody forbids you from doing everything you can to make your contestant stand out. Secondly, since the team consists of four people, three coaches and one host, where will Thuy stand? I'm the oldest one, so if I'm not the one to guide her, who else will?

Thirdly, my outfit was sent to me by Gucci, and I chose it because I liked it. The other two coaches will have the same privilege if they want to. There was no arrangement here. It was all fate.

- Many have commented that the performances, especially the dance segment in the final night, did not meet the competition's criteria. As a coach, can you explain how dancing relates to brand ambassadorship, or was it just a competition for fun?

- In your opinion, what challenges should we face to become more suitable? I'm asking seriously, because a brand ambassador has to deal with many demands and criteria set by the brand.

Dancing is also a way to exercise and release your body, feel the music, and develop confidence and stage presence. Surely, with everything I've said, you'll see that this part of the competition is very important, right?

I would also like to thank Khanh Thi for directly directing and guiding the contestants in her team during this part of the competition.

- Watching The Face, viewers commented that Lan Khuê and Phạm Hương were much more naive than you, both in their speech and handling of situations. What do you think about that?

- Who said that? Are they stupid? The only thing I have over them is experience; otherwise, if I were their age, I wouldn't even know how to do anything for myself, let alone train anyone.

- What did you think when Pham Huong left and didn't stay to congratulate Phi Phuong Anh like Lan Khue did when she won the crown?

- I didn't have time to think because I was busier sharing the joy with Phi Phuong Anh and the other students. After that day, I read the newspaper and learned that Pham Huong had celebrated her birthday.

Therefore, it was the right thing for Huong to do to leave early. Generally speaking, I don't think anything of it, but everyone else is overthinking it.

- Your contestants in both X Factor and The Face won first prize. Do you possess a certain "power" over the organizers, able to pressure them to help your own contestants?

- If I had power in my hands, I would have done something greater for myself and others than winning a competition. Because, when you win without the support of the majority of the audience or your abilities don't live up to the expectations of that victory, you're just bringing trouble and pressure upon yourself.

It's the same organizing committee, so why didn't I demand victory in the first season of The Voice?

- Looking at Phi Phuong Anh, what reminds you of your early days in the profession when you were also very young?

- I only remember that I was very naive compared to young people today, but on the other hand, because I didn't know anything, I wasn't afraid of anything, especially not of being "stoned" because back then, the technology for throwing stones didn't exist.

Looking at today's youth, I feel a little disheartened because back then, we had to rely on ourselves, without any guidance. The path to success and recognition was a long and arduous one. Perhaps that's why we – that generation – were so certain in every step we took.
