Ho Tan Tai suffers serious injury, withdraws from ASEAN Cup.
Defender Ho Tan Tai bids farewell to the ASEAN Cup 2024 after suffering a serious injury in Vietnam's 3-1 victory over Singapore on the evening of December 29th.
On the morning of December 30th, the Vietnamese national team doctor took Tan Tai to a hospital in Viet Tri (Phu Tho province) for an MRI scan to determine the extent of his injury. Later that day, the player from Binh Dinh returned to his hotel. He had his right knee immobilized with a brace and was having great difficulty moving around using crutches.

"My leg hurts, but my head hurts even more," Tan Tai jokingly replied when asked about his health by reporters. According to the results, Tan Tai suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Fortunately, surgery wasn't required, but he will need about 6 to 8 weeks of treatment and recovery.
With this injury, Tan Tai officially missed both finals, bidding farewell to the ASEAN Cup. This is a great pity for the player born in 1997.

The absence of Tan Tai is a blow to coach Kim Sang-sik, especially since the South Korean strategist cannot use Van Toan for the same reason, while Van Thanh and Xuan Manh are also facing injury problems, leaving their participation in the first leg of the final uncertain.

Earlier, in the final minutes of the second leg of the ASEAN Cup semi-final between Vietnam and Singapore, Ho Tan Tai, while waiting for a pass from Van Vi on the left wing, fell while controlling the ball.
The defender from Binh Duong Club lay on the ground in pain. The Vietnamese national team doctor immediately came onto the field to attend to him. After a few minutes, Tan Tai had to leave the field on a stretcher.
