Three female students tragically drowned at Vuc Mau Lake, Nghe An

On the afternoon of July 31, at the Vuc Mau irrigation lake (Hoang Mai ward, Nghe An province), three female students died from drowning. The victims were Nguyen Thi KN and Bui Thi TC (students in grade 7), and Bui Thi BB (student in grade 9), all residing in Quynh Mai ward.

A group of female students from the same neighborhood invited each other to swim in Vuc Mau Lake, 3 of them tragically drowned.

At 3:00 p.m. on July 22, Vuc Mau reservoir - the largest irrigation project in Nghe An province - began to release spillway to proactively respond to heavy rains caused by the circulation of storm No. 3. The flood discharge was carried out in accordance with operating procedures, ensuring the safety of the project and downstream areas.
