Chrysanthemums are selling well for Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year), and prices are lower than last year.

The Lunar New Year is the peak season for fresh flower consumption, especially chrysanthemums. This year, the price of chrysanthemums at the farms is lower than last year, but flower growers are still making a profit.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dien's family in Block 4, Hoa Thanh town (Yen Thanh district) sold approximately 60,000 chrysanthemum plants of various types this Tet holiday. Ms. Dien said that the price of chrysanthemums sold at the garden this year is lower than last year, at 2,500 VND per yellow chrysanthemum plant; other colored chrysanthemums are sold at 3,200 VND per plant. However, at this price, flower growers are still making a profit. According to data from local authorities, Yen Thanh district has about 15-20 hectares of Tet flowers; Dien Chau district has about 10 hectares. In addition, other localities such as Quynh Luu, Hoang Mai town, Vinh City, Hung Nguyen district, Nam Dan district... also have a considerable number of people growing chrysanthemums for sale during Tet.
