Miss Luong Thuy Linh is pursuing a PhD at the age of 24.
Recently, Miss Luong Thuy Linh enrolled in a doctoral program. She was accepted into the PhD program in International Economics at the University of Economics (UEB), part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
After graduating with honors with a Bachelor's degree in International Economics from the Foreign Trade University of Hanoi with a GPA of 3.63/4.0, Luong Thuy Linh continued her pursuit of knowledge by earning a PhD. The beauty queen stated that she hasn't completed a Master's degree yet. However, the program at the University of Economics, part of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, allows graduates with honors or higher in the same field to directly pursue a PhD. Luong Thuy Linh applied with a dissertation proposal she completed herself. Her application and research proposal received a total score of 78 points.
With an IELTS score of 7.5, Luong Thuy Linh has a significant advantage in research, essay writing, and communication in English. She stated that the course duration will consist of approximately 20-30% online learning, with the remaining time dedicated to in-person classes at the university.
When asked about her reasons for choosing to pursue a PhD, Luong Thuy Linh shared: “Since I was a child, I have harbored the intention of pursuing a long-term academic path. I believe that knowledge is the tool that opens doors of opportunity, leads us to more beautiful places, and makes us useful citizens for society.”
The beauty queen added that, as a bachelor's degree holder, pursuing a doctoral program would be very challenging. She expressed her determination to do her best to train and improve herself, in order to contribute a small part to the development of her country.
Besides her passion for research and academia, the beauty from Cao Bang also impresses with her sense of responsibility to the community, participating in many charitable activities, educational programs, and community development initiatives. In addition, she is currently an assistant lecturer at a university. At 24, Luong Thuy Linh is content with her current life but reminds herself to keep moving forward.
