Miss Ngoc Chau was unable to obtain a bachelor's degree from Ton Duc Thang University.

In the programDreamofVietnamOn the evening of May 12th, Miss Ngoc Chau admitted to her mother, Dang Thi Gai, that she was unable to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Ton Duc Thang University (Ho Chi Minh City).

Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 confided to her mother: "I told you before that I was almost finished with my studies, and that I would graduate after completing my thesis and project. However, I still have one or two projects left to complete, so I can't get my degree yet. Because I've exceeded the training deadline, the school won't let me return to continue my studies. Now I can't get my degree anymore."

At this point, Ngoc Chau's mother reacted with surprise and worry. Despite her sadness, she still encouraged Ngoc Chau: "The most tiring and difficult times were when we ran out of money and the children were still young. At that time, I had to borrow money from the bank and work hard to support them. I just hope you find a stable job. Just keep trying, whatever has happened has happened."

Ms. Gai also advised Ngoc Chau to work seriously and always respect and listen to feedback from the audience.

In February, a list of students who had not yet graduated and whose training period had expired at Ton Duc Thang University went viral on social media. This list included a student ID for the same major as Ngoc Chau. Immediately, she became embroiled in controversy.

Mr. Tran Viet Bao Hoang - CEO of Unicorp, the agency managing Ngoc Chau - stated that the beauty queen has not yet graduated from university. He said: "At the time of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 competition, the information in Ngoc Chau's profile was completely truthful, stating that she had completed 12 years of schooling and was studying Biotechnology at Ton Duc Thang University. Currently, Chau has not yet graduated from Ton Duc Thang University."

After winning the national competition, Ngoc Chau focused on preparing for Miss Universe 2022, and was unable to complete some of her courses. At that time, Ngoc Chau's management company said they had requested permission from Ton Duc Thang University to support and facilitate her completion of her graduation project after the competition.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, born in 1994, was crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2022. In the same year, she competed in Miss Universe in the US but did not advance far in the competition.
