Miss World 2021 suddenly postponed the final round
Early morning on December 17, the official fanpage of the Miss World contest announced the postponement of the final round. According to the original schedule, the Miss World final round was to take place on the evening of December 16, Puerto Rico time, which is 6:00 a.m. on December 17, Vietnam time.
The reason given by the Miss World Organizing Committee is for the health and safety of all contestants, technical staff, organizers and the public. The Miss World finals have been postponed and are scheduled to be rescheduled in the next 90 days.

"The organizing committee has decided that the final competition will be postponed for the next 90 days. This decision was made after a meeting with the medical experts hired to oversee the final event and the Puerto Rico Department of Health," the announcement on the official fanpage of the contest said.
According to the press release, the organizing committee has added the best safety measures to avoid the risk of spreading the Covid-19 epidemic, ensuring the health and safety of the contestants, the organizing committee and the audience. However, after information about the positive cases related to the contest was announced on the morning of December 16, up to 17 people, the organizing committee decided to postpone the contest night after consulting with experts and medical staff.

On her personal page, Do Thi Ha - Vietnam's representative at the Miss World contest also shared the information about the postponement of the final round. In addition, she also revealed that Mrs. Morley and the reigning Miss World Toni Ann were also infected with Covid. "This is not a safe time to organize the final round, so it must be postponed. Contestants and audiences also have a little regret for this journey, but we should understand that health must be the top priority, everyone," Miss Do Thi Ha wrote.
According to the Organizing Committee, tests will be conducted and only when candidates test negative for Covid-19 and are in good health can they return home.

Earlier, Puerto Rico's Health Department confirmed that 17 people associated with the ongoing Miss World 2021 pageant had tested positive for Covid-19.
