Miss Vietnam 2024 will not select contestants who have undergone cosmetic surgery.

During the Miss Vietnam 2024 recruitment event at Hue University, hundreds of contestants came to register and listen to presentations from the competition organizers.

Journalist Tran Tuan, representing the Miss Vietnam 2024 Organizing Committee, stated that after 37 years of organization, the Miss Vietnam pageant is being held in Hue for the first time. This is especially significant given that Hue has become a centrally-governed city and will host the National Tourism Year and the Hue Festival 2025.

“Youth only comes once. I believe that with enthusiasm and dynamism, you can absolutely arrange and plan your studies scientifically and appropriately to participate in extracurricular activities or beauty pageants. Besides, the Miss Vietnam Organizing Committee and the school will always support you and create all the conditions for you to participate in the competition in the most complete way. All you need is enough confidence and to meet the competition criteria to begin this journey,” emphasized a representative of the Miss Vietnam 2024 Organizing Committee.

In response to the question of whether Miss Vietnam accepts contestants who have undergone cosmetic surgery, a representative from the organizing committee stated: "Miss Vietnam is perhaps the only beauty pageant that remains steadfast in its traditional values, respecting the natural beauty of women."

We do not accept contestants who have undergone cosmetic surgery; this is also a unique aspect of the competition. One might think this would be a barrier in an era where beauty technology reigns supreme, but in reality, many contestants still meet the criteria of natural beauty for Miss Vietnam. This proves that natural beauty is still highly valued.”

Speaking at the Miss Vietnam recruitment event, Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung - Vice Director of Hue University, said that Hue is the festival city of Vietnam, a land of culture and civilization with a rich history and unique culture spanning 700 years of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan, and a land rich in revolutionary traditions.

We are delighted to be chosen as a partner to organize activities for the Miss Vietnam 2024 competition, including today’s recruitment fair,” shared Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung. Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung added that Hue University is proud to be one of the educational institutions with many beautiful, graceful, and talented female students. Many female students from Hue University have made their mark in major beauty pageants, such as Pham Thi Phuong Trinh - top 35 in Miss Vietnam 2022, Ho Thi Yen Nhi - top 20 in Miss Vietnam 2022, and Vo Le Que Anh, Miss Grand Vietnam 2024… Dr. Do Thi Xuan Dung also believes that achieving high positions in beauty contests will give students more opportunities to strive for personal growth, contribute to the building and development of the country, preserve and honor Vietnamese culture, and participate in international integration.
