After a one-year hiatus, Luala Concert, a street music event, is officially returning and will begin its first performance on November 15th.
The Luala Concert Autumn/Winter 2015 continues to take place on Ly Thai To Street in Hanoi, offering free performances to the public. This event is becoming a much-anticipated cultural activity for many Hanoi residents, as Luala Concert has long been a source of enjoyment for Hanoians and tourists every weekend, featuring performances by renowned artists from the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and other artists such as Hong Nhung, Thanh Lam, My Linh, Tung Duong, and others, all performing for free on the street.
This year, the program will run for 5 weeks (from November 15, 2015 to December 13, 2015) with one performance each Sunday afternoon (from 3 to 5 pm) at the familiar location (61 Ly Thai To Street, Hanoi).
This Autumn/Winter season, Luala Concert will transport audiences back to the familiar world of classical music with performances by string and brass instruments. This year's program is especially focused on quality, featuring carefully selected works, some of which will be performed for the first time at Luala Concert.
In particular, this year's concert season will dedicate the December 6th performance to works written for children, including "Peter and the Wolf" by composer Sergey Prokofiev. The appearance of harpist Aya Matsumoto will also bring surprise and delight to Vietnamese audiences, who rarely have the opportunity to enjoy solo harp performances.

At the press conference introducing the program, Mr. Minh Do, the program director, said that the new feature this year is the rejuvenation of the participating artists. Luala Concert aims to create opportunities for young artists to connect with the Hanoi public. Therefore, this year's Luala Concert introduces the Hanoi Chamber Orchestra, with young but experienced and passionate performers. The program also features guest artists of various nationalities, such as pianist Ngo Phuong Vi, oboe player Nguyen Hoang Tung, opera singer Vo Hong Quan, pianist Boomi Jang, and harpist Aya Matsumoto.
The program was created with artistic guidance from violinist Nguyen Xuan Huy.
