(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 20th, the family of Mr. Nguyen Tran Nhan Nghia (Ky Tan commune, Tan Ky district) discovered a cluster of Udumbara flowers on the leaves of a spiny amaranth plant.

Mr. Nghia said: "I'm a soldier, on leave. While gardening, I accidentally discovered a strange flower blooming on a withered amaranth leaf. I had seen pictures of the Udumbara flower in the newspaper, so I suspected it was the Udumbara flower."

The image shows the Udumbara flower blooming on the leaves of the spiny amaranth plant.

Upon closer observation, the stem of this flower is as thin as a thread, about 1cm tall. At the top are white, bell-shaped flowers that closely resemble the Udumbara flower described in Buddhist scriptures. Even more remarkably, despite its delicate appearance, the cluster of flowers shows no signs of tilting or breaking even when strong winds blow.

When the cluster of flowers was discovered, many people from Nghia's hometown came to see it and commented enthusiastically about this strange flower.

According to Buddhist scriptures, the Udumbara flower blooms to herald the birth of a Wheel-Turning King or a Buddha. Buddhist texts often mention the Udumbara flower as symbolizing something rare and extraordinary, found only in the celestial realm, not on earth.

There are two different theories, one suggesting that the flower blooms only once every 3,000 years.

Recently, many people in Nghe An province have discovered Udumbara flowers blooming on their doors, iron hinges, or car windows. Some believe that this flower is actually a type of mold.
