According to the Telegraph, on March 1, about 200 passengers on British Airways Boeing 777 flight BA285, traveling from Heathrow (London, UK) to San Francisco (USA), suddenly received a flight delay notice right before the scheduled flight time of 10:40 am (local time).
A passenger told the BBC that the crew said the plane could not take off because a rat was found. A replacement plane had been arranged but it would take several hours before preparations were completed.
During the waiting time, the airline served free lunch to passengers.
More than four hours later, passengers on the flight with the mouse were transferred to another plane to continue their journey.
After the incident, British Airways said: “We know people want to fly with us to San Francisco. But this time there was a tiny passenger on board so we had to escort everyone back to the gate. The two-legged customers were all on their way to California and we are very sorry for the delay.”
