According to the Telegraph, on March 1st, approximately 200 passengers on British Airways flight BA285, a Boeing 777 traveling from Heathrow (London, England) to San Francisco (USA), were unexpectedly notified of a flight delay just before the scheduled departure time of 10:40 AM (local time).
A passenger told the BBC that the crew said the plane couldn't take off because they found a rat. They also announced that a replacement plane had been arranged but would have to wait a few hours before preparations were complete.
While waiting, the airline serves free lunch to passengers.
More than four hours later, passengers on the flight with the rat were transferred to another plane to continue their journey.
Following the incident, British Airways stated: “We understand that everyone wanted to fly with us to San Francisco. But this time there was a tiny passenger on board, so we had to bring everyone back to the gate. The passengers with two legs are now en route to California, and we sincerely apologize for the delay.”
