The dire circumstances of a poor family "on the brink" of ruin.
They came together like "a crooked pot with a crooked lid." But these unfortunate lives were not settled. Misfortune struck repeatedly, to the point that now all they can do is "close their eyes and wait for fate." This is the heartbreaking story of the family of Mr. Dang Van Du and Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, Yen Phu hamlet, Giai Lac commune, Nghe An province.

One disaster after another.
Nearly a month ago, the Nghe An Oncology Hospital admitted a patient with a particularly difficult situation: Mr. Dang Van Du, residing in Yen Phu hamlet, Giai Lac commune. As a child, he suffered from a birth defect after an accident. Despite his physical disability and impoverished circumstances, he persevered through hard work to overcome his challenges. Until one day, he received devastating news: he had terminal cancer.
Mr. Du, his wife, and one child live in a small house in Yen Phu hamlet, Giai Lac commune. The house was built with the help of relatives when he married Ms. Tran Thi Phuong, a poor woman from a neighboring village. Upon hearing the news of her husband's serious illness, Ms. Phuong fainted, rushed home from work, and suffered an accident that resulted in permanent damage to her left foot. Since then, she has had to quit her job as a factory worker and spends her days collecting scrap materials to sell, just to make ends meet.

On the brink of fate
The person who helps Ms. Phuong pick up and drop off her children every day is now her father-in-law, an elderly farmer who has been confined to a wheelchair for over eight years. Out of love for the couple's only grandchild, Mr. Than does everything he can. But for him, taking care of himself is already an extraordinary effort, let alone helping his children and grandchild.
For a month, Ms. Phuong devoted all her efforts to saving her husband and treating his broken foot, exhausting her last remaining savings. She then had to borrow money from everywhere, but given her family's circumstances, borrowing was no easy feat. Despite the support of neighbors, Mr. Du's family still hasn't overcome their hardship. Now, they are simply hoping for a "miracle" to change their lives.

The most valuable asset of the poor family was the cow, which Mr. Du cared for daily, but now they have to sell it. Difficulties have therefore piled up for Mr. Du and Ms. Phuong's family.Hopefully, no "doors" will be closed. Sharing from the community will be a crucial "lifeline" for Mr. Du's family.
