Landslide remediation work completed on Nguoc Mountain (Thanh Chuong).
After a period of construction since June 18, 2024, the landslide remediation project in the Nguoc mountain area on National Highway 46B has been officially completed.
Observations at the site show that the large, previously precarious rock formations have been completely removed, and the entire base of the mountain has been reinforced.
Nguyen Minh Hai, a driver who frequently travels the Vinh - Thanh Chuong route, shared: "Before, we were always worried about landslides when passing through here. Now that Nguoc Mountain has been treated more safely, we feel much more at ease."

Nguoc Mountain is located in the Thanh Ngoc and Ngoc Son communes of Thanh Chuong district. This area has rugged terrain, with high mountains on one side and a deep river on the other. For many years, serious landslides have occurred, threatening traffic safety.
In response to this situation, the Vietnam Road Administration directed the implementation of the "Landslide Remediation Project on National Highway 46B, Section KM39+200 - KM39+750," with the Road Management Department II as the investor. The project focuses on thoroughly addressing landslide and rockfall points on Nguoc Mountain. The slopes are cut in layers, creating stepped levels with heights of 8-12m and 5-6 levels depending on the terrain.

At the same time, two dangerous curves were also modified, the road surface widened at the foot of the mountain, and gabion retaining walls were built along the slopes to ensure the safety of people and vehicles. Guardrails were also installed along the banks of the Lam River.

According to a representative from the Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, National Highway 46B is a vital transportation route connecting the district with Vinh City and surrounding areas. Completing the landslide remediation project will not only ensure traffic safety but also promote local socio-economic development.
