At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Phu Hien affirmed: The project to extend the runway of Vinh International Airport by 600m is a key transportation infrastructure project of the province. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that land clearance be completed before April 30, 2026, so that the land can be handed over to the investor for construction and completion of the project in June 2026.
During the meeting, representatives from the three localities of Vinh Hung ward, Vinh Phu ward, and Nghi Loc commune, along with representatives from the Department of Construction, the Department of Agriculture and Environment, and the Department of Finance, raised several issues that need to be addressed. Currently, the relevant agencies are determining the relocation site for the K1 Air Defense and Air Force Command; identifying the boundaries of the land area within the national defense land planning; and investing in the project to straighten the Rao Truong river after the investment policy is approved.
