Hoang Mai honors 60 outstanding farmers and business owners.

(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee and the Farmers' Association of Hoang Mai town recently held a conference to honor 60 outstanding farmers in production and business during the period 2012-2016.

Implementing the movement "Farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty," on average, 54.6% of households in Hoang Mai town register to participate in the competition each year. To date, the entire town has 5,821 households of farmers excelling in production and business at all levels, with an average income ranging from 2.5 to over 6.5 million VND/person/month, an increase of 1,862 households compared to 2012. This includes 30 households excelling at the central level, 92 at the provincial level, 405 at the town level, and 5,294 at the commune/ward level.

Awards of commendation were presented to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the "Farmers Competing in Excellent Production and Business" movement.

Outstanding business households are present in all types of production and business activities, contributing to improving the quality of goods and products, and forming cooperatives, associations, and private enterprises in the area. Specifically, there are 943 outstanding households in crop cultivation and livestock farming; 825 outstanding households in trades and small-scale industries; 2,171 outstanding households in industry, trade, and services; and 1,882 households involved in processing agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, and diversified production and business.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai, Vice President of the Provincial Farmers' Association, emphasized that to further deepen the movement, all levels of the Farmers' Association need to strengthen the implementation of various types of support services for farmers, especially in terms of capital, seeds, supplies, and the transfer of scientific and technological advancements. They should also encourage farmers to cooperate and establish cooperatives and large-scale production models following the value chain approach in crop cultivation and livestock farming.

At the conference, the People's Committee of the town awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 collectives and 10 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement of farmers competing in excellent production and business, uniting to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty during the period 2012-2016. The conference also elected 6 delegates to attend the provincial-level conference on excellent production and business./.
