Activities to help the poor in Tan Ky and Nghia Dan
(Baonghean.vn) - On September 19, organizations and charities held activities to help poor households and disabled children in Tan Ky and Nghia Dan districts.
Tan Ky District Fatherland Front Committeeand the volunteer associations in the district and benefactors held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a house for two elderly people, Nguyen Thi Chat and Nguyen Van Chien, in hamlet 11, Nghia Hanh commune, a poor household with especially difficult circumstances.

The two elderly people who received support to build a house are two sisters, over 65 years old, both of whom have mental disabilities, are unable to work and have no family, all expenses are based on the subsidy of 270,000 VND/person/month. The two elderly people live in a dilapidated house in the middle of a deserted hill, not ensuring safety when the rainy season comes. With the attention and support of authorities at all levels and philanthropists, the house for the two elderly people is expected to cost nearly 100 million VND in total.

Le Van Son was born with cerebral palsy, which caused his limbs to be cramped and made it difficult for him to walk. His mother left him when he was young. Faced with such a difficult situation, the district Fatherland Front coordinated with the District Association for the Protection of the Disabled and Orphans and the Commune Women's Union to support 7 million VND to help him buy an electric wheelchair, with the hope of helping him move around more easily and conveniently in daily life and study, reducing the burden on his family and relatives.
Also in Nghia Dan,Women's Union of Nghia Khanh CommuneThe organization gave the breeding stock to Ms. Ho Thi Thu, a poor women's association member in Hong Khanh hamlet.

Ho Thi Thu's family is poor, she herself is sick and has a young child. In that situation, the Commune Women's Union gave 8 million VND, along with the help of relatives, to help her family buy breeding animals worth 14 million VND. In addition, the Commune Women's Union coordinated with the Commune Agricultural Extension to organize instructions on how to care for and prevent diseases during the breeding process at home to gradually improve income and build a more stable life.
