(Baonghean.vn) – That is the promise of Nghe An youth that Phan Thi Minh Tram - a student of Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted - made on behalf of the youth at the ceremony to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the birth of patriot Phan Boi Chau and receive the Certificate of special national relic.

Phan Boi Chau was an outstanding son, converging and crystallizing the traditions of his homeland and becoming a symbol of the soul and character of the people of Nghe An. A man who always longed to find a way to liberate the nation; for the purpose of saving the country, he bravely stepped out of the "Cua Khong San Trinh"; put aside differences in political views, strived to rise up and renew himself on the path to finding the truth. A man who soon changed, broadened his vision, became the nucleus of the pioneering class that brought the Vietnamese nation into the wave of Asian awakening in the early 20th century. A great writer, poet, and cultural figure with immortal literary works and stirring poems for today's young generation.

Phan Boi Chau is an example of studiousness and good learning. As a child, he was famous for his outstanding academic talent: at the age of 6, he could memorize the Three Character Classic; at the age of 7, he could read and understand the Analects; at the age of 13, he passed the district exam...

Born and raised in a time of national destruction, Phan Boi Chau soon realized that: "The country is dead, living is more shameful/ Where are the sages, learning is also in vain".

Therefore, after passing the National Examination in 1900, instead of pursuing his dream of a civil service exam, Phan Boi Chau chose the revolutionary path with the desire for freedom and independence as a voluntary shouldering of the responsibility of the country as a man full of ambition and spirit.

Today's young generation knows Phan Boi Chau not only through the heroic pages of history but also through the literary works he left behind. These literary works are considered a precious heritage of national literature. They are verses that carry the breath of the times, filled with the hot blood and enthusiasm of a man who spent his life in pain and suffering for the people and the country, urging generations of young people to take to the streets for national independence. Just as the old man advised: "Forge an iron liver to move mountains and fill seas/ Pour hot blood to wash away the stain of slavery".
