In 2026, medical schools nationwide will simultaneously increase tuition fees, with some schools planning to double them.

According to Government Decree 238/2025/ND-CP, tuition fees for public universities are divided according to the level of financial autonomy and the quality of training provided by the educational institution.

For universities that are not yet autonomous, the tuition fee ceiling ranges from approximately 1.71 to 3.5 million VND per student per month, depending on the field of study, and increases according to a schedule each year.

Meanwhile, autonomous universities are allowed to charge tuition fees higher than the usual ceiling. Specifically, universities that cover their own operating expenses can charge up to twice the usual rate; universities that cover both operating and investment expenses can charge up to 2.5 times the usual rate.

For training programs at public higher education institutions that have achieved quality accreditation, the higher education institution shall, based on the economic-technical norms or cost norms for each training field and profession issued by the institution, determine the tuition fee level itself and make it transparent to students and society.
