During the Lunar New Year holiday, the education sector requires students to practice civilized behavior, preserve national cultural identity; maintain social order and safety, abide by traffic safety laws, and prevent social evils.

The Nghe An Department of Education and Training has just issued a document guiding the organization of the Lunar New Year holiday in 2026 for educational institutions in the province.

Accordingly, the periodTet holidayThis year, students in preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, and trainees at computer, foreign language, and life skills centers will have a Tet holiday from February 13th, 2026 to February 22nd, 2026 (i.e., from the 26th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the 6th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse). With this holiday schedule, students in Nghe An will have a 10-day Tet break.

Meanwhile, for civil servants, the Lunar New Year holiday for the Year of the Horse will last from February 14, 2026 to February 22, 2026 (i.e., from the 27th day of the 12th lunar month of the Year of the Snake to the 6th day of the 1st lunar month of the Year of the Horse).

During the Tet holiday, the Department of Education and Training requests that schools strengthen their efforts in disseminating information and educating students on civilized behavior during Tet; complying with legal regulations on traffic safety, fire prevention, and accident and injury prevention.

At the same time, educate students to absolutely refrain from participating in the illegal production, sale, and transportation of weapons, explosives, supporting tools, firecrackers, and e-cigarettes; and strictly comply with regulations on the management and use of fireworks.

In addition, based on actual conditions, schools need to proactively develop plans and coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and local organizations to mobilize social resources and organize visits and encouragement for students from policy beneficiary families, orphaned students, and those without guardians; staff, teachers, and employees in difficult circumstances; and staff, teachers, and students whose relatives are serving in the sea, islands, and border regions of the country, so that they can enjoy a healthy, safe, and economical Lunar New Year celebration.

In particular, the Department also requested that schools promptly implement measures to prevent students from dropping out after the Lunar New Year holiday. This includes reviewing students at risk of dropping out, classifying them, and taking appropriate measures for each student; no student should be forced to drop out due to difficult circumstances.

Many provinces and cities across the country have now announced the Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students of all levels in 2026. Accordingly, the holiday period for students ranges from 9 to 16 days.
