Students in Quang Ngai will return to school on August 22nd.
The first day of school for students in Quang Ngai takes place about 10 days before the official opening ceremony. This allows schools ample time to prepare for the new school year and helps students feel relaxed and less stressed.
School start and opening ceremony dates
The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province issued Decision 629/QD-UBND on the framework plan for the 2025-2026 school year, which clearly stipulates the school start date, opening ceremony, and examination schedule.
According to the new decision, students throughout Quang Ngai province will return to school on August 29, 2025.
Grades 1, 9, and 12 will start school earlier, from August 22, 2025.
The opening ceremony for the new school year will be held simultaneously on September 5, 2025.
School and Tet holiday schedule
Teaching begins: September 6, 2025.
End of Semester I: before January 18, 2026.
Completion of the program and end of the school year: before May 26, 2026.
The total study time is guaranteed to be within the prescribed 35 weeks of actual study.
Assessment for completion of primary school program: before June 30, 2026.
Consideration for granting junior high school graduation certificates: before May 26, 2026.
Enrollment for entry-level classes (preschool, grade 1, grade 6, grade 10): to be completed before July 31, 2026.
The high school graduation exam and the national excellent student competition are organized according to the schedule set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
Public holidays are observed according to the Labor Code and annual guiding documents. Teachers' annual leave is taken during the summer break or may be arranged intermittently at other times of the year to suit the specific situation and the school year schedule of Quang Ngai province.
During the implementation process, the Department of Education and Training will advise the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on decisions regarding school closures and extensions of the school year in special circumstances; decisions on school closures in cases of extreme weather conditions or natural disasters, and arrangements for make-up classes; and announcements of exam schedules and guidance for provincial-level exams and competitions.
