Excerpt from Phan Thi Le's contest entry. |
Since I was a child, I was instilled with a love for the Russian language by my grandfather, a Russian teacher. In junior high school, I chose to study Russian at Dang Thai Mai school to satisfy my passion for the language of the land of the White Birch.
For Le, Russian is not only about letters, but it also appears vividly through stories of Russia's great patriotic war, the Russian books that her grandfather often told her. Since then, she has loved Russian, loved Russia with songs like Goodbye Slav girl, Afternoon on the outskirts of Moscow...
Currently, Le is a student in the Russian class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted and a member of the Russian national team. Winning the prize in the translation contest “Talented Fairy Tale Teller” has given Le more motivation to pursue his passion and love for the Russian language./
