On the afternoon of January 30th, numerous schools throughout the province simultaneously organized activities to celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year with the theme "Spring of Love - Family Reunion during Tet". The program provided students with meaningful experiences, contributing to a joyful atmosphere, strengthening the bond between teachers and students, families and schools, and spreading positive traditional cultural values.

Springtime of Love at the School in the Flood-Affected Area

In late September 2025, following Typhoon No. 10, Thu Thuy Primary School was one of the educational institutions most severely damaged in Cua Lo ward. It took nearly two months for the post-storm and flood recovery efforts to be largely completed.

After a year marked by successive storms and floods, the school's "Spring of Love - Tet Reunion" event welcoming 2026 holds special significance. More than just a spring celebration, the program also provides motivation and encouragement to the entire staff, teachers, and students as they enter the new year.

The event attracted over 800 teachers and students, along with a large number of parents.

The highlight of the program was the lively New Year's cultural performances presented by teachers and students themselves. In addition, there were many meaningful experiential activities such as displaying traditional New Year's fruit platters and practicing calligraphy, helping students better understand the value of traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) and fostering love for national culture.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngon, homeroom teacher of class 2A4, shared: “I have been dedicated to this profession for over 30 years and will be retiring in just a few months. In my final year working at the school, I am very happy to participate with parents and students in a meaningful Spring celebration program, rich in national identity.”

Besides the competitions between classes, Thu Thuy Primary School's Spring Festival was also lively with many familiar folk games such as tug-of-war, sack race, blindfolded pot smashing, spoon ball passing, bridge jumping, etc.

As part of the program, the school also presented dozens of spring gifts to students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have overcome difficulties and excelled in their studies.

Preserve those "happy learning hours"

Also on the afternoon of January 30th, Le Mao Secondary School (Thanh Vinh Ward) organized an experiential program with the theme "The Flavors of Tet in the Past". The program was like a "happy learning hour," helping students "relive" the atmosphere of Tet in the past with green banh chung (traditional rice cakes), red couplets, five-fruit trays, and traditional folk games.

In each grade level, students participate in unique experiential activities, such as wrapping banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) with their parents, decorating stalls, and learning about traditional Tet customs.

For 8th grade students, the program also serves as a practical activity for the Experiential Learning subject.

From planning and assigning tasks to managing finances for each booth, students are trained in teamwork, organizational thinking, and a sense of responsibility – essential qualities for citizens in modern society.

Through practical activities, students not only have fun but also learn how to cooperate, share, appreciate the value of labor, and cherish family affection.”
