3cm fish bone stuck in throat for more than 2 months before discovering

The special thing about this case is that after nearly 3 months, the patient developed complications from the abscess.
Previously, in early March 2016, during lunch, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang (59 years old, Quy Hop) got a fish bone stuck in his throat. After many attempts to remove the foreign object in his throat, the initial sharp pain subsided, and with his fear of going to the hospital, Mr. Quang quickly returned to his daily life and forgot about the fish bone.

By early May, Mr. Quang had symptoms of increasingly swollen neck, swollen lymph nodes in the jaw angle; painful eating, talking, turning the head, turning the neck. On May 11, Mr. Quang was transferred to Nghe An General Hospital. With a diagnosis of abscess next to the left neck, widespread swelling, the ENT doctor decided to perform emergency surgery to drain the abscess in the neck area for the patient.
During the treatment, a fish bone piece longer than 3cm, which pierced the esophagus and caused an abscess, was removed by the doctor from patient Quang's neck.
