(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 13th, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thanh Mai commune (Thanh Chuong district), organized a drill to respond to storms and floods.

The drill involved organizing the relocation and evacuation of people in emergency situations such as storms and floods.

During the drill, the commune's leaders and rescue team practiced organizing the relocation and evacuation of residents in emergency situations such as storms and floods, reinforcing houses, rescuing drowning victims, and providing basic first aid.

In addition, to help people in flood-prone areas better respond to and mitigate damage caused by natural disasters, and to enhance the capacity of local authorities in disaster risk management, the Nghe An Provincial Red Cross Society provided 20 water tanks (each with a capacity of 1,500 liters), 14 rescue boats, 6 handheld loudspeakers, 30 lifebuoys, and FM early warning loudspeaker equipment to Thanh Mai commune.

The total value of these vehicles is 250 million VND, funded by the "Disaster Risk Reduction" Project sponsored by the Norwegian Red Cross.
