The Provincial Red Cross Society launches 'Humanitarian Month' in 2022
(Baonghean.vn) - On May 4th, in Thanh Xuan commune, Nghe An province, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, organized the launching ceremony of the "Humanitarian Month" 2022 with the theme "Connecting the community to spread acts of compassion," and commemorating International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.
The "Humanitarian Month" in 2022, which peaked from May 8th to 19th, 2022, aimed to raise awareness, understanding, and practical action among officials, Party members, and all segments of the population regarding humanitarian activities.humanefor those who havedifficult circumstancesThis includes vulnerable people at all times and in all places. This activity contributes to promoting poverty eradication, building solidarity and compassion in local communities and communities.

Over the three years of implementing "Humanitarian Month," the entire province has mobilized nearly 23 billion VND, assisting nearly 50,000 humanitarian cases. Specifically for "Humanitarian Month" in 2022, the Provincial Red Cross Society aims to visit and present gifts to 16,000 humanitarian cases with a total value of approximately 7 billion VND. Each district, city, and town-level unit will build one humanitarian project and mobilize humanitarian activities to reach at least 10 billion VND.
Attending and speaking at the launching ceremony, the leaders of Thanh Chuong district continued to call on Party committees, government agencies, businesses, and philanthropists inside and outside the district to join forces and provide increasingly effective assistance to the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and vulnerable people, in order to contribute to the successful implementation of social welfare policies in the area. The Thanh Chuong Red Cross Society will continue to be a trusted address for all levels of people, organizations, and individuals to entrust their faith and share contributions in humanitarian activities.

On this occasion, the Provincial Red Cross Society also presented 576 gift packages to 576 households affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Thanh Xuan commune, with a total value of over 596 million VND.
