The National Election Council consists of a Chairman, 4 Vice-Chairmen, and 14 members.
On the morning of June 26, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution ratifying the proposal of the Chairman of the National Election Council regarding the list of Vice-Chairmen and members of the National Election Council.
With 100% of the National Assembly deputies present voting in favor, the National Assembly approved Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly - as the Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Election Council and Head of the Personnel Subcommittee.
Comrades Nguyen Hoa Binh - Member of the Political Bureau, Standing Deputy Prime Minister; Do Van Chien - Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; and Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Party, Vice President of the Republic, serve as Vice Chairpersons of the National Election Council.
The National Assembly also approved 14 members of the National Election Council as proposed by the Chairman of the National Election Council.
The resolution approving the list of Vice Presidents and Members of the National Election Council takes effect immediately upon being voted on by the National Assembly, creating a legal and organizational basis for the National Election Council to fully implement its functions and duties as prescribed by the Constitution and laws.
Earlier, on the afternoon of June 25, the National Assembly voted to approve the Resolution electing Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man as Chairman of the National Election Council.
