Nghi Loc - Cua Lo Hometown Association in Hanoi: A Milestone of 35 Years of Building and Development
In the spring of 1991, the Nghi Loc Hometown Association in Hanoi was officially established, creating a common home to connect the people of Nghi Loc and Cua Lo who were living far from home.
Over 35 years of establishment and development, the Association has gone through 7 terms of President, including: Colonel Hoang Buu Don, Colonel Tran Van Banh, Lieutenant General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Nguyen Quoc Thuoc, Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Dau, Colonel, Associate Professor, Doctor Vu Dang Hien, and currently Mr. Le Nghiem.

Over the course of more than three decades, the Nghi Loc - Cua Lo Hometown Association in Hanoi has continuously grown stronger, becoming a spiritual anchor, a place that connects fellow countrymen, and promotes the tradition of solidarity and camaraderie among the people of Nghe An province.
Beyond being a place for members to meet, share, and encourage each other in life, the Association actively contributes to its homeland through many practical social welfare activities, supporting the poor and families in difficult circumstances, and accompanying the socio-economic development of Nghi Loc - Cua Lo.
Over the years, the Association has paid special attention to connecting generations of Nghi Loc's children living, studying, and working in Hanoi; maintaining effective activities promoting education and talent, honoring those who have contributed to the nation, visiting members when they are ill, and offering condolences during times of need. The Association has also strengthened coordination with local authorities to exchange information in both directions, contributing to the organization of many major events in the homeland.

In addition, cultural, artistic, and sports activities are always maintained vibrantly, creating a healthy playground, fostering community cohesion, and instilling a sense of pride in their homeland among the younger generation. Notably, in 2024, the Nghi Loc - Cua Lo Business Club in Hanoi was established, creating a forum to connect and support members in cooperating to develop the economy and make positive contributions to their homeland.

In response to the "Tet for the Poor - Lam River Region Solidarity" program for the Spring of the Year of the Horse 2026, the Association, together with its partners, distributed gifts to over 400 poor households in the communes of Hai Loc, Nghi Loc, Dong Loc, Phuc Loc, Than Linh, and Van Kieu, with a total value of over 300 million VND in cash and goods. The Association also directly visited and provided over 70 million VND in support to families in particularly difficult circumstances; coordinated the implementation of many social welfare programs, supported children with congenital heart disease, and promoted activities to care for the younger generation in the homeland.

Thirty-five years marks a journey of sustainable development and the strong sense of belonging among the people of Nghi Loc - Cua Lo living abroad, always looking towards their homeland with pride, responsibility, and a shared aspiration to build a more prosperous, civilized, and compassionate homeland.
On the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), the Nghi Loc - Cua Lo Hometown Association in Hanoi recently held a solemn ceremony to celebrate its 35th anniversary. The event was attended by many leaders from the Central Government, Nghe An province, and local authorities from the Nghi Loc - Cua Lo region, along with former and current leaders of the Hometown Association, numerous businesspeople, intellectuals, artists, and members of the association.
