The Russia-Japan 2+2 Ministerial Meeting discussed security issues.
(Baonghean.vn) - In an interview with TASS news agency, Russian Ambassador to Tokyo Mikhail Galuzin said that the Foreign Ministers and Defense Ministers of Russia and Japan will discuss the security situation in the Asia-Pacific region at the "2+2" conference scheduled to take place in Moscow on July 31st.

Galuzin stated: “The upcoming 2+2 meeting between the Defense Ministers and Foreign Ministers of Russia and Japan will focus on military issues and measures to build political confidence. From this perspective, there will be an exchange of views on the security situation in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The Russian ambassador to Japan emphasized that the four ministers "will compare their positions on pressing regional and global security issues."
Mr. Galuzin added that the President of the Japanese Senate, Chuichi Date, will visit Moscow next week. He shared, "We hope that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will attend the Eastern Economic Forum scheduled for September."
